RITA
Rita is a woman who chose to join her brothers in France after the death of her mother in Romania. For several years, she has been living in a shantytown in Montpellier, where every day is a struggle: legal papers, work, housing, healthcare…
One day, she begins rapping in the Place de la Comédie, accompanied only by a simple plastic cajón. The looks, the smiles, and the phones raised to film her allow her to exist in a different way. This recognition gives her the strength to keep going, to believe in her music.
Between odd jobs, the harshness of camp life, and endless administrative procedures, Rita manages to generate a rare energy. In her world, both fragile and powerful ,she offers us a fragment of humanity, in the midst of a world that seems to have forgotten her.
